[00:00:00] Hello everyone. Welcome to Season 5 of Christian Emotional Recovery. I'm your host, Rachel Leroy, and I hope everyone is having a wonderful new year. I hope everyone has had a prosperous holiday, or at least you got through the holiday. I have been taking some downtime to rest and to recollect myself after a very difficult year last year, and I'm hoping and believing for a better year this year.
[00:00:27] And I hope that you have a much better year and a good year this coming year and that God blesses you as well. I wanted to give some updates on the podcast, and I'll try to keep it brief. Just a few things. As always, I will be putting out new episodes in the near future. I have not begun to create those yet, but I have ideas for them. I will also continue to try to put out the YouTubes as much as I can.
[00:00:49] That can be a little more one year than the next, depending on how much time I have. I have been still looking for another part-time job or potentially a full-time job that might take the place of my job teaching and team leading at the university online that I work at. And so that is another thing. I have been going through some of my own spiritual and emotional healing processes.
[00:01:13] I have been working on trying to deal with chronic pain and dealing with the psychological aspects of that because I think those can be just as damaging, if not more so, than the pain itself. And so there are some things that I have been doing to try to work on that because that is one of the things that has incapacitated me from being able to work on the podcast in the past couple of years at times intermittently. So if you could keep me in your prayers, I appreciate it. And of course, we'll always keep you in my prayers as well.
[00:01:42] I just pray for prosperity and happiness and joy and kindness to you and yours this year. And so looking forward to the new year, I have decided I may start creating a blog. I'm not sure how that might impact my YouTube videos and my podcasts because I can't put out more stuff. So I've got to figure out how I'm going to do that. But I think having a blog, another format like that might be helpful for a lot of people where maybe they don't have time to listen to a podcast or something.
[00:02:12] So and I have kept a blog in the past. So that's something new that I'm going to work on. And in the coming months, sometime this year, God willing, if all goes well, I'm going to try to start working on either a membership site or some courses that people can purchase. I will be blunt. The financial aspect of this can be challenging at times. I love, absolutely love doing the podcast. It's my labor of love. I love helping you. I love being in the group with you and interacting with you and encouraging you.
[00:02:40] I love the encouragement that I get just from listening to people's stories and interacting with you. It's such a blessing and I'm so grateful. But there is financial investment that goes into the podcast. And the time and energy that I put in the podcast is time to be doing another part-time job. And again, I'm not complaining. Nobody's obligated ever on this podcast. The podcast, the YouTube videos, and the Facebook group will always be free.
[00:03:08] But I am looking at ways to monetize the podcast in order to be able to continue to do what I'm doing. Because I do have long-term goals that I have to meet as well and obligations. So, one thing that you can do to help me to be able to continue to create the work that I do and to be able to help other people like you that are survivors is you can contribute monthly by Patreon at Patreon. Or you can contribute one time at either KoFi.com
[00:03:38] or I also have a PayPal account where you can donate as well. And I will put those in the show notes and I will link those. And I also have a financial breakdown of what goes into the podcast and all of the materials that house and create the podcast. And I like to be transparent, financially transparent. So, I will put that document in there if you're interested so you can see. So, you know I'm not making things up or anything like that. I'm being honest, of course.
[00:04:05] That, you know, there is some investment that goes into the podcast. I make monthly payments on different things like the website and the software and the email list and just different things like that. I also have a newsletter. If you're interested, you can sign up for the newsletter. The link will be in the show notes as well. You can check that out. You can also sign up at ChristianEmotionalRecovery.com ChristianEmotionalRecovery.com And you can also sign up at RachelleRoy.com
[00:04:35] That's R-A-C-H-E-L-L-E-R-O-Y.com That's two L's in the middle. RachelleRoy.com Okay, so those are places you can go. You can also sign up for freebies there. And I have some meditations. I've been trying to make some more. Making meditations is a bit of a challenge because it has to be perfectly silent to make them. And most of us that have neighbors, that is very difficult. So I'll try. And I will make some more meditations that you can access for a...
[00:05:05] I think I sell them in bundles. And they're like maybe $12 to $15 for a bundle of maybe 4 to 6 meditations. Something like that. So I will be working to put that out in the near future as well. So just updates to the podcast. I will be putting out new episodes soon. I am hoping to have those out by early March. I will also be putting out new YouTubes sometime soon after that. I'm not sure exactly when yet. I will be working on a blog.
[00:05:32] And as always, if you'd like to subscribe to any of those that you're not subscribed to, I'll put the links in the show notes. And also, if you'd like to be part of the community, the free community, that is at Facebook. And it's Christian Emotional Recovery. Trauma Survivors Unite. Christian Emotional Recovery. If you type that in, you'll find it. And there's a little symbol. It looks like sort of a flower or a plant. And it's like green and blue. And that's the logo. So if you go there, you know you're in the right place.
[00:06:02] And you can sign up and join our wonderful and supportive Facebook community. I cannot even begin to express how grateful I am for the wonderful people in the group. They're so supportive. Nobody is ever mean or judgmental there. People are kind. Sometimes they may have a slight difference in theology. Come on. Let's be honest. There is a lot going on, especially in the United States, where a lot of us do not agree on a lot of things. But one thing in my group, I want everyone to feel safe.
[00:06:32] And I do not allow extreme controversies. And I do not allow politics into my group. Politics is something we need to talk about. It's something that a lot of people don't like talking about. But that's another place. Another thing that we don't talk about is condemnation and guilt. We don't heap that on people. We talk about right and wrong, but this is a safe group. And yes, we use experimental modalities. And some people don't like that.
[00:06:59] And if somebody does something that you don't agree with, just scroll on. You don't have to agree with it. You have a right to use your discernment and let the Holy Spirit guide you and give other people the freedom to do the same thing. Maybe God has a different plan for them than he does for you. Now, of course, when we start getting into some really very strange woo-woo stuff, we don't do that in the group either. So we're not going off on some weird tangent. Know that.
[00:07:25] But yeah, we do things like EMDR and meditation and stretching and yoga. And some people, that's for them. And other people, it's not. And that's okay. I love diversity. And I love to have a group of people where everybody can have different opinions and different perspectives and talk about them like adults. And I think that's something that we need in our society now more than ever. But I'm also not in a place in the group where I want it to become a place for debate. We can discuss and we can even disagree.
[00:07:54] But I like it to stay calm and safe and neutral. The theology, I would say, is pretty neutral. I like to keep it what you might call mainline Christianity. We're not going off on any tangents. I have said before that I do not adhere to or believe in extremely fundamental theologies. If somebody is in a group like that and they have questions, you are welcome in the group. But it's mainstream Christianity, if that makes sense.
[00:08:23] And also, if you are not a Christian, you are also welcome in the group. And we love you. And you are welcome in our group. Just note that we talk about God and Christ and the Holy Spirit and our relationship with God and how God guides us in our walk. But keep in mind that if you are Jewish or you're not non-believer, you're questioning, you are still welcome in a group. And we love you. Because I was taught to love everybody.
[00:08:50] And regardless of what other people think about that now, I'm going to keep doing it. And that's just the way it is. I'm going to treat everybody with kindness and dignity and respect. And I'll let God sort them out. That's my opinion. That's just my opinion. But I just wanted you to know that that's how the group operates. So, you're welcome in the group. You're welcome to join the YouTube channel. You're welcome to join the Facebook group. And you're welcome to join the podcast. Check out the blog and subscribe to it when it comes out. I will put it out on the newsletter.
[00:09:19] I'll let you know in other formats so that you can know when that comes out. But I will put that most likely. Either link it to or put it in the website rachelleroy.com. Racheleroy.com. There is a place where I can do blogging. So, I will do that there. But that is a quick update on the new year and what is coming into the new year. And I'm very excited about it. And I'm going to be starting on that now.
[00:09:46] And I look forward to being able to put out new stuff for you. Including the blog. And we'll see how that goes. And how often I can do it. But I look forward to a new year. I look forward to putting out new podcast episodes. If you have a request for a specific topic, feel free to email me. My email address or there's also a form you can fill out on the website. All of those are linked in the websites that I shared with you. So, check those out as well.
[00:10:12] You can also reach me at rachel at rachel-leroy-consulting.com. Those are not underscores. They're regular dashes. Okay? Technically, they're hyphens. But there's just one. Okay? Rachel at rachel-leroy-consulting.com. So, check it out. And reach out to me if you have any questions. I also am doing some coaching. I've had several people ask about that. I have done a little bit of coaching.
[00:10:41] I would like to get certification. But that takes, you know, resources. And I'm going to try to figure out a way to do that. And so, keep at it. Keep supporting the podcast. And you're not obligated. But if you're able, I greatly appreciate it. It's a great blessing to help me continue with this ministry. And I thank you so much for following and listening. And I look forward to a new year. God bless you. And remember, beloved, you are fearfully and wonderfully made. And God loves you.
